Youth Center, promoting empowerment of youth
AVOKO Dragash Youth Center is a non-
governmental and non-for-profit organization
founded in Dragash in 2009 by young people
and for the young people.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to encourage active citizenship and civic participation in society with a primary focus on empowering young men and women to create positive change in the community where we live. By encouraging participation in the drafting, implementation and monitoring of local public policies, we influence the improvement of citizens’ lives.Part of the organization’s mission is to contribute to raising society’s
awareness of environmental protection, promoting ideas for environmental protection, nature conservation and sustainable development, as well as environmental protection initiatives through
local, regional and international cooperation.

To develop a community where young people
are empowered and actively participate in the
decisions that affect their everyday lives in their
community.
APROACH
To promote opportunities that effectively engage young people in undertakings that
challenges them to develop skills, gain critical awareness, and participate in opportunities to
create a better future.

AVOKO also aims, through lobbying and advocacy at the local and central level, to influence the improvement of the inter-ethnic and cultural environment among young people of all communities living in the municipality of Dragash, thus increasing social cohesion and cooperation young people through their involvement in the implementation of various activities that are implemented in the field.
GOALS
To engage youth in exploring career possibilities based on their interests; To guide youth in analyzing and addressing their community concerns and be part of decisionmaking To engage youth in exploring their culture; To engage youth in exploring ways of building strong relationships at various levels of society; and… To build the capacity of organizations to support the communities they serve.
